About “Between the Current and the Echo”
Of Latin American heritage, Z’otz* Collective, a multidisciplinary trio composed of Nahúm Flores, Erik Jerezano, and Ilyana Martínez, merges drawing, painting, ceramics, and animation to create playful, storytelling-driven works. Their art features bold lines, surreal imagery, and hybrid creatures inspired by mythologies, fables, and Pre-Hispanic art forms. Since 2004, the Collective has developed a unique communal process, passing works between members to build layered, evolving compositions.
This exhibition foregrounds Z’otz* Collective’s commitment to co-creation, rejecting the notion of the solitary artist in favour of a collaborative, ever-evolving process rooted in spontaneity and exchange.
About “All Abroad!”
Hop aboard for an artistic adventure across time and place!
From steamships to camper vans, artists have traveled far and wide, gathering the experiences that fuel their creativity. This collections-based exhibition traces their journeys, from 19th-century Europe to 20th-century Canada to 21st-century Tibet, revealing how diverse landscapes and encounters continue to inspire artists and challenge our perceptions of the world.
