October 5 | Wash ‘n Care: Community workshop with artist Meera Sethi

Saturday, October 5, 2024 | 2 to 4 PM
Free | Ages 16+ | Registration required (Space is limited)

Join Meera Sethi: A Brief History of Wear exhibiting artist Meera Sethi for a workshop exploring her three-part, research-based project, Unskilled. This project examines the life cycle of clothing—from cotton seed to closet—and challenges the fast fashion industry by presenting care as a slow, participatory process.

The workshop will feature a participatory demo of Wash ‘n Care labels designed by Sethi, which offer insights into garment care beyond just washing, drying, and ironing. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of environmental responsibility, workers’ rights, and emotional connections to clothing. Each attendee will receive a Wash ‘n Care label and instructional card. Please bring a piece of clothing or fabric for discussion during the workshop.
