About the Program
Celebrate Earth Day with the Varley Art Gallery!
Donate your gently used magazines and books at the gallery to support sustainability and creativity. Your contributions will be repurposed for our children’s art programs, helping to inspire young artists while reducing waste.
All donors can enter into a raffle to win a Varley Art Gallery Membership. This membership includes exclusive benefits such as free admission to 70+ galleries, discounts on our art classes, workshops, and camps, and more!
Raffle Details
- Donation deadline: Sunday, May 4 at 5 PM
- Winner announced: Wednesday, May 7 by 1 PM
Guidelines for Accepted Materials
- Magazines should ideally have images, patterns, colours, or textures that can be used for collage and mixed-media projects.
- Books can include children’s storybooks or books with vibrant illustrations.
- Family friendly and age-appropriate for children aged 4 to 12 years old.
Guidelines for NOT Accepted Materials
- Moldy, or excessively dirty books and magazines.
- Non-paper materials (including CDs, DVDs, or other multimedia items).
- Inappropriate content of any kind;
- Magazines or books with content that is not suitable for children (e.g., explicit, violent, or overly mature themes).
